Teams

RUBIN KAZAN

Ryzhikov: 8 -
Made a string of fine saves to deny the Dynamo onslaught in the second half to keep his side in the contest. Almost blotted his copybook by spilling a late Shevchenko shot but managed to get away with the error.

Salukvadze: 7 - Solid at the back in a tight defensive unit.

Sharonov: 7 - Battled gamely throughout and was in the wars after clashing heavily with Ninkovic. Went off clutching his face.

César Navas: 7 -
He was imposing when he needed to be and held on resiliently with the rest of his side in the second 45.

Ansaldi: 5.5 -
A reasonable display from the full back but should have done better with his corner kicks.

Semak: 6 -
Looked good on the ball when he got on it. Shame he didn't see more of it on a frustrating night for his side.

Noboa: 6.5 -  Gave a good account of himself and was committed in the closing stages as he picked up a booking.

Ryazantsev: 5 - Failed to make a real impression on the game in the atrocious conditions.

Karadeniz: 7 - Looked good in the first half and whipped in the delicious cross for Dominguez's acrobatic strike which should have opened the scoring. Replaced on the hour mark

Dominguez: 7.5 -
Provided the moment of magic late in the first half with a brilliantly executed bicycle kick which was well stopped by Shovkovskiy. Was a menace in the first half but didn't have any real service in the second.

Bukharov: 6.5 -
Had a half chance with a header in the first half which he should have done better from. Was almost the match winner at the death but went to ground too easily as Kiev cleared the danger.

Substitutes:

Kaleshin: 6.5 - Replaced Sharonov in the second half and looked solid in the heart of the defence.

Bystrov: 5.5 -
On for the final 15 minutes but didn't make any real impact.

DYNAMO KIEV

Shovkovskiy: 8.5 -
Denied Dominguez with a quite breathtaking stop which he had no right to get to at the death of the first half. Busier in the first half than the second.

Eremenko: 6 - Went to ground in the first half and almost gifted a goal to Dominguez who wasted the chance. Tried to get forward when he could.

Yussuf: 7.5 - A strong physical presence at the back who took no nonsense off Bukharov whom he had the measure of throughout.

Betao: 7 - Confident in his defending throughout and read the game well.

Magrao: 6 - Wasted his corner kicks all night long but redeemed himself with his well timed late challenge to deny Bukharov in the dying minutes.

Mikhalik: 6 -
Provided some good passes in the second half as Kiev went in search of a winner.

Ninkovic: 7 - Seemed to relished the blizzard conditions and clattered into Sharaonov in the second half which left them both hurt.

Vukojevic: 5.5 -
Struggled to get to grips with the game and didn't see enough of the ball.

Shevchenko: 7 -
Linked up well with his strike partners and was given space to roam down the right hand channel. Went close in the 75th minute to open the scoring after a well worked one two with Milevskiy.

Milevskiy: 7.5 - Dangerous in attack he was involved with the best of Kiev's play in the second half. Forced a fine save from Ryzhikov with an opportunistic shot from range in the closing stages.

Yarmolenko: 5.5 -
Had his chances in both halves but lacked the composure in front of goal to nick the win for the Ukrainian side.

Substitutes

Ghioane: N/A -
