Teams
Akinfeev: 7.5 - Neither of the two shot stoppers were particularly busy but the captain showed his class right at the death with a last ditch fingertip stop to deny Schafer's crafty lob which looked to be creeping in.
A. Berezutski: 7.5 - Was involved the equalising goal linking up with Aldonin who fed Necid to square matters. Solid defensively also.
Ignashevich: 7 - A workmanlike display in the heart of the defence and was a threat in the air from set pieces.
V. Berezutski: 7 - Like his twin brother he was confident in his defensive play in Leonid Slutsky's well organised unit.
Schennikov: 7 - Made a vital intervention with a well timed tackle inside the CSKA penalty area to help his side record the three points.
Krasic: 9 - A superb individual display capped by his sublime strike which won the match. Ran Die Wolfe ragged all night and was a constant threat whenever he got on the ball. His goal was a rich reward for a fine night's work which no doubt got the attention of scouts across Europe.
Rahimic: 6 - Saw plenty of the ball although was restricted to keeping it in his own half a lot of the time.
Aldonin: 7.5 - More effective than his midfield partner as he sprayed the ball around confidently. Delivered the pin point cross for Necid's goal and went close with a strike from range in the second half.
Mamayev: 6 - Frustrating night for the number 11 who struggled to get into the match. Wasted a great chance when he only had the keeper to beat but shot straight at Benaglio instead.
Dzagoev: 7.5 - Was full of running in the second half and showed good skill when he was on the ball. Should have buried at least one of his late chances to make it three for the Moscow side.
Necid: 7.5 - Took his goal well even if he was left unmarked in the box to nod it home. A pest in the air from set pieces and worked hard for his side.

VFL WOLFSBURG
Benaglio: 7.5 - Made some good stops, putting his body on the line in the second half as CSKA bombed forward. Could do nothing for Krasic's wonder strike.
Riether: 5.5 - Went about his work unnoticed in a defensive unit which was found wanting for both goals.
Ricardo Costa: 5.5 - Was exposed with the rest of his side who granted the freedom of Moscow to Necid to score the vital equaliser.
Madlung: 5 - Struggled to cope with the aerial threat of Necid and the wizardry of Krasic all night.
Schafer: 6 - Turned inside out by Krasic who gave him the proverbial twisted blood treatment. Put in some good crosses and almost levelled matters at the death with a cheeky lob.
Hasebe: 5.5 - Another who struggled get to grips with the Serbian maestro in the red shirt. Hauled him to the ground in the first half with a rugby tackle.
Josue: 6.5 - Neat and tidy and showed a good range of passing.
Gentner: 6 - Sent in some inviting crosses which deserved better. Had a half hearted attempt goal with eight minutes remaining which didn't frighten anyone.
Misimovic: 6 - So impressive against Besiktas three weeks ago, the Bosnian didn't get on the ball enough and left his shooting boots at home, blazing two shots wide.
Dzeko: 7 - Took his goal well as you would expect with a deadly finish. Didn't have the support up front a player of his talent deserves.
Martins: 6 - Created Dzeko's goal with a terrific pass which split the defence and the offside trap. Did little thereafter and was left isolated up front as he was against Besiktas. Was the only player to be substituted in Moscow.
Substitutes
Karim Ziani: 5.5 - Replaced Martins for the final 20 minutes and aside from a speculative shot offered little during his stint.
