Ghana's national team coach Milovan Rajevac has vowed action would be taken against the top Black Stars trio that went AWOL in an international friendly against Angola two weeks ago.

“We have to put the team in control and take action. It is clear some action will be taken,” the Serbian served notice concerning Michael Essien, Sulley Muntari and Asamoah Gyan who withdrew from the team without permission.

“That behavior was unacceptable. Not correct for themselves and the rest of the team and everybody associated with the team. We need to make good examples and function well.

“The team is not happy with what happened. That [players absent without permission] must not happen again in the national team.

“We can’t allow it to disrupt our team but we must make some decisions and must be disciplined,” Rajevac told ghanafa.org.

The 55-year-old said the issue must be addressed before it undermines Ghana’s 2010 African Nations Cup and World Cup participation.
