Tusker FC had a shaky start after drawing 1-1 with Hay al Arab of Sudan on Wednesday, but the club reaffirmed their status yesterday after they drubbed Miembeni of Zanzibar 6-1 in a one sided match played at the Port Sudan.
Nigerian Joseph Emeka opened the floodgates in the eighth minute before Oscar Kadenge and Nathan Mutenza shook the net on 28 and 39 minutes before the end of the first half.
Emeka again scored right on the hour mark, before Noah Abich added the fifth goal in the 75th minute. Aggrey Ongori finished the rout in the final minute of the match.
Sudanese giants, El Mereikh also romped into the quarters after rampaging Kartleh of Djibouti 6-1.
Kampala City Council (KCC) also confirmed their place in the quarters after hitting Tanzania Prisons 3-1 in Khartoum. Mathare will now play El-Mereikh on Sunday to determine the winner in group A.
