Ghanaian champions Hearts of Oak recorded their first victory of the new season courtesy of a goal from new signing Mahatma Otoo against third-placed Kessben at the Ohene Djan Stadium in Accra.
It was Hearts first win after two successive defeats at the start of the season.
They are now 13th in the 16-team championship, notching three points from as many matches.
Ashanti Gold remain on top of the standings with seven points from three matches following a 1-1 draw with Asante Kotoko. The home team took the lead through Aminu Mohammed before Daniel Nii Adjei drew Kotoko level.
However, Gold failed to snatch full points when Stephen Owusu Sefa's spot kick was saved by Kotoko goalkeeper Isaac Amoako late in the game.
Heart of Lions returned to winning ways at the Kpando Park, where they defeated newly promoted Edubiase 2-1, while hosts Real Tamale United posted a 1-0 win over Aduana Stars.
Fourth-placed King Faisal kept their impressive start running at the Baba Yara Stadium in Kumasi, where they sealed a 2-1 win over Sekondi Hasaacas.
Kamal Issah earned Liberty Professionals all three points in their 1-0 victory over Chelsea, and Eleven Wise defeated Great Olympics 2-1 at the Sekondi Stadium.
All Stars slumped to another defeat when they lost 1-0 to Berekum Arsenal. They are second from bottom on the table.
