Algerian U-17 coach Othmane Ibrir has told dzfoot.net that
he is proud of his players despite the fact that his side lost all three of
their matches, conceded five goals and scored none.
“I am not disappointed. On the contrary, I’m proud of my players. They gave the best of themselves in Nigeria. This tournament was a great lesson for them. I hope that it will serve them well in their careers,” he explained.
The trainer was speaking after his team had lost their final game versus South Korea and came away so impressed that he called them the best team the young Fennecs faced in a group that also included Uruguay and Italy.
“Today it was South Korea that deserved to win. They’re the best team in the group, that’s clear. Out of our three adversaries it was the Koreans who were the most difficult to play against,” he added.
