Roma icon Francesco Totti has been offered a route out of retirement at the age of 41 by Australian side APIA Leichhardt.
The World Cup winner hung up his boots and called time on a legendary career in the summer of 2017.
He signed off at Roma having made close to 800 appearances and netted over 300 goals.
Totti now fills a directorial role at the Serie A club, having decided to quit a coaching course.
Part of his current position sees him travel the world as an ambassador of Roma, with one such journey about to take him to Australia to host a number of football clinics.

The ASR Football academy in Sydney is affiliated with the Serie A giants and has strong ties to local semi-professional club Leichhardt.
With that in mind, and with another Roma icon – Giuseppe Gianni – set to attend an FFA Cup quarter-final clash with Adelaide United on September 26, Leichhardt are hoping that they can tempt Totti into dusting off his boots.
Anthony Ucchino, a representative of ASR Football, said: “An offer has been put forward as we’ve got Giuseppe Giannini coming over for the game.
“The club is trying to make something special happen, we’ve put in an offer and now we’re waiting to see if that offer will be taken up.
“The club is taking the initiative and we’re hoping we can build something on the links we already have.”

The Juventus legend is another of those to have received an offer ahead of last eight encounters in the competition, with Avondale FC hoping to have him line up against Sydney FC.
“We can only comment that we are waiting to hear from [Pirlo’s] management,” an Avondale FC spokesperson has said.
