Velasco has been battling an ACL injury and has been ruled out for the MLS season. However, he remains a prominent player on Boca's shortlist, with <a href="https://bolavip.com/en/soccer/boca-juniors-all-in-for-fc-dallas-alan-velasco" target="_blank">TyC Sports</a> reporting that the Argentine club's president, Juan Roman Riquelme, is a huge fan of the player.

WHAT HAPPENED?

While Velasco is currently injured, his contract expires in December 2025, and Boca appear to be laying the groundwork for a free transfer at the end of next season. Nevertheless, the report claims that the playmaker would rather move to Europe, meaning Boca will have to move quickly; he can sign a pre-contract with a European club from July of 2025.

THE BIGGER PICTURE

Velasco has made 64 appearances for Dallas in total and has scored 13 goals, while registering seven assists. Before his move, he played for Independiente, making 69 senior appearances. He is still only 21 and is a former Argentina youth international.
