<p>Gyokeres announced himself on the European stage with a sensational hat-trick against City, but Haaland sank into darkness after a miserable night in Lisbon as Pep Guardiola's men suffered a third <a href="https://www.goal.com/en/lists/man-city-player-ratings-vs-sporting-cp-erling-haaland-phil-foden-viktor-gyokeres/blt8172f07d97e77c94#cs0f481d5a5dc073cd" target="_blank">successive defeat for the first time since April 2018.</a></p>

WHAT HAPPENED?

<p>Although Haaland has 17 goals for club and country this season, the Norwegian talisman has blown and cold, which has damaged his returns per his lofty standards. However, Gyokeres has terrorised defence across Portugal and in Europe and already boasts of having 25 goals this term, including the three he grabbed on Tuesday evening. In fact, there have been only two matches where he has failed to find the net.</p>
