<p>Lionel Messi and Luis Suarez topped MLS kit sales for 2024, with the stars of South Beach leading the pack. Expectedly, the Argentine came in at the No. 1 slot, while his longtime friend and teammate Suarez shortly trailed him at No. 2.<br>Fellow Miami players Jordi Alba and Sergio Busquets respectively came in at No. 11 and No. 16 in the top-25 rankings from the league.</p><p>Coming in at No. 3 is LAFC star Denis Bouanga while FC Cincinnati's Lucho Acosta (No. 4) and Columbus Crew's Cucho Hernandez (No. 5) rounded out the top five. </p>

WHAT HAPPENED?

<p>Messi made his triumphant return to the pitch after over three months away due to Copa America duty with Argentina, and then a lingering ankle injury. Starting for Miami Saturday evening against the Union, <a href="https://www.goal.com/en/lists/lionel-messi-back-with-a-vengeance-as-inter-miami-star-scores-brace-against-philadelphia-union-in-winning-return-from-injury/blteca3767ef4c01a10" target="_self">he scored twice and earned a late assist</a>, with the Argentine being crowned MLS Player of the Matchday on Tuesday for his heroics.</p>
