But <a href="https://www.thetimes.co.uk/sport/football/article/erik-ten-hag-wants-swift-decision-on-future-at-man-united-5sr632tnm" target="_blank">The Times </a>writes that the Dutchman wants an answer one way or the other quickly. Ratcliffe and Joel Glazer are leading a post-season review that will determine Ten Hag's future, assisted by Sir Dave Brailsford and Jason Wilcox. The cup final took place on Saturday and the review is tipped to last "several days".

WHAT HAPPENED?

The Times adds that <a href="https://www.goal.com/en-gb/player/erik-ten-hag/6snb5wvyx2sain1zlv9605905" target="_blank">Ten Hag</a> is "worried" he will be sacked two years into a three-year contract. But it will now cost the club more to sever ties early than if <a href="https://www.goal.com/en-gb/team/manchester-united/6eqit8ye8aomdsrrq0hk3v7gh" target="_blank">United</a> had lost at Wembley, due to a clause in the manager's contract regarding failure to qualify for Europe. Despite finishing eighth in the Premier League, a record low for the club in the modern era, the Red Devils will be in next season's Europa League by virtue of their FA Cup win.

Speaking to Voetbal International in an interview published over the weekend, Ten Hag claimed to have contacted by other clubs."Maybe [Ajax] think I'll be fired and then I'll be available. I never thought about it for even a second. I never wanted to do that, because my focus is entirely on Manchester United. Several clubs have inquired recently, but that does not have my attention," he said.

WHAT TEN HAG SAID

Until the club concludes its review and reaches a decision, all Ten Hag can do is wait. As of right now, he remains in limbo, unable to properly start planing for next season but not in a position where he can address the outside interest and apply for other jobs.
