When asked about it, he said with a smile: “Yeah. But it’s like a funny thing because I like to speak - not too much - but when I speak, I think I speak from the heart. I think people feel that. It was something just to have fun.”</p><p>Ronaldo’s endorsement of Amorim as a “poet” underscores the respect he commands from his compatriots. However, the poetic charm must now translate into tangible success on the pitch - a feat that will require both time and resilience.</p>

<p>As he settles into life at Old Trafford, Amorim's immediate focus is on getting to know his new squad at the club’s Carrington training base. The international break has provided an opportunity for the manager to assess his resources and begin implementing his vision.  United’s first test under Amorim will be against Ipswich Town on November 24 at Portman Road.</p>
