WHAT HAPPENED?

It was a special occasion for Reyna and Adams who had gone through a tough phase in the past 12 months. While Adams returned from a serious injury, <a href="https://www.goal.com/en/lists/gio-reyna-king-of-concacaf-nations-league-golden-ball-usmnt/blt956beadfaf4f6336#csf079b078b4bcb502" target="_blank">Reyna failed to blossom at Dortmund</a>, having scored just twice in almost a year. In the January transfer window, the attacker was sent on loan to Nottingham Forest.

Reyna now has five goal contributions in three finals for the USMNT, two more than any other player in the team's history. His impressive performance throughout the competition earned him the prestigious Golden Ball award.
