Big money would be required in order to tempt Klopp back into the dugout, with Hayes – who has <a href="https://www.goal.com/en-gb/lists/pedal-metal-trinity-rodman-explains-why-uswnt-full-throttle-former-chelsea-boss-emma-hayes/blte2e8797cbaff3552" target="_blank">taken the reins of the USWNT</a> after severing ties with WSL champions Chelsea – saying when asked about potential pay disparity across two prominent international posts: “My focus today is on preparing our team for our training camp this week. I have to think about that and I have to think about performing first and foremost, myself with this team, this Olympics. I think with regards to matters relating to the men's team and gender equity, they're not questions for now or for me, knowing that my absolute focus is on the preparation this week.”

Hayes is <a href="https://www.goal.com/en-gb/lists/emma-hayes-heart-surgeon-middle-emergency-surgery-uswnt-manager/blt69789ef3e49d381a" target="_blank">readying the USWNT for a gold medal bid at the 2024 Olympic Games</a> in Paris. She has become “the highest-paid women’s soccer coach in the world”, with the U.S. introducing a pay parity scheme, but would likely earn less than Klopp if he were to accept an offer from the USMNT.
