WHAT HAPPENED?

<p>Salah has been <a href="https://www.goal.com/en-gb/lists/love-mohamed-salah-psg-president-nasser-al-khelaifi-new-vow-liverpool-forward-transfer-rumours/blt133e88f81523a53b" target="_blank">linked with Paris Saint-Germain</a> and <a href="https://www.goal.com/en-gb/lists/mohamed-salah-told-how-become-bigger-star-cristiano-ronaldo-liverpool-forward-saudi-pro-league-transfer/blt08978cea55a8e779" target="_blank">teams in the Saudi Pro League</a>, with there no suggestion that he would join a Premier League rival if farewells were to be bid on Merseyside. A retracing of steps to west London would certainly come as a surprise.</p>

<p>Chelsea <a href="https://www.goal.com/en-gb/lists/jose-mourinho-reveals-real-reason-mohamed-salah-kevin-de-bruyne-left-chelsea-liverpool-man-city-acting-like-kids/blta9553095cd8ed664" target="_blank">gave Salah just 19 appearances after snapping him up from FC Basel</a> in 2014, with his reputation having to be rebuilt elsewhere before eventually ending up at Liverpool – where he has won domestic and continental trophies while plundering 227 goals through 371 appearances.</p>
