<p>The Magpies were scheduled to travel on Tuesday to take on League Two side AFC Wimbledon on Tuesday in a Carabao Cup third-round clash at the Cherry Red Records Stadium. However, the match, which was supposed to kick off at 7:45 pm BST, has now been postponed due to the poor condition of the venue. </p>

WHAT HAPPENED?

<p>Due to overnight torrential downpours, the Cherry Red Records Stadium saw extensive flooding. A sinkhole was spotted near the touchline on Monday while walkways were completely flooded. <p>The <a href="https://www.newcastleunited.com/en/news/magpies-carabao-cup-third-round-tie-at-afc-wimbledon-postponed" target="_blank">official statement</a> from the Premier League side read, "Newcastle United's Carabao Cup third-round tie at AFC Wimbledon has been postponed following extensive overnight flooding at the Cherry Red Records Stadium."  </p>
