Former United team-mate Ferdinand has been discussing a sensational retracing of steps to English football with Ronaldo, saying on the Portuguese’s <a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WAz6enaA9nE " target="_blank">YouTube channel</a>: “We spoke on the phone when you were going to go and sign at Man United, when you were negotiating to come back, and my wife wanted to kill me! It was 1 o’clock in the morning and you rang me: ‘Rio what’s going on, can we sort this out?’ You ended up signing for United. Initially that must have been a beautiful thing for you because I remember on the phone you sounded so happy. Then obviously it went a bit sour.”
