The Arsenal right back stars in the latest episode of Box to Box and opens up on life in England, his time at the World Cup and sends out a direct message to Arsenal fans ahead of the crucial Premier League title run-in.
But he also gives a little insight into exactly what it’s like to go up against his manager behind closed doors at London Colney every week.
“Sometimes he trains with us,” Tomiyasu says with a smile. “He has very good skills.
“The training level [at Arsenal] is so high. The atmosphere is amazing. We are like a family, the supporters as well."
Tomiyasu also struggles to keep the smile off his face when he talks about the behaviour of Japan’s fans during last year’s World Cup in Qatar.
Videos of Japanese supporters cleaning up after themselves inside the stadiums went viral on social media during the tournament.
It’s something that fills Tomiyasu with pride, although he admits it did not come as a surprise.
“For the Japanese people, it’s a normal thing to clean up after you used to something,” he said.
“It's the Japanese culture and I'm proud of that. “
