Who will win Serie A in 2019-20? The favourites, outsiders, underdogs & latest odds

Serie A is the last of the major European leagues to get underway with Juventus bidding for a ninth consecutive Scudetto this season.

The Old Lady have had very little competition in most of the previous eight campaigns, having won the title by nine points or more on five of those occasions.

Who are the favourites to win Serie A?

Juventus are 2/5 (1.40) favourites with bet365 to win Serie A again, which will come as little surprise after winning the Scudetto last season with ease.

Cristiano Ronaldo scored 21 goals in 30 starts during his debut campaign with the club in 2018-19 and will be out to better that tally this time around.

The Turin outfit strengthened this summer by adding Aaron Ramsey, Adrien Rabiot and Matthijs de Ligt, making their quest for nine titles in a row look all the more likely.

Inter can be backed at 11/4 (3.75), with the Milan-based side hoping to evoke the glory days of just a few years ago when they won Serie A five times between 2006 and 2010.

Since the turn of the decade they have not managed to finish above fourth place in the top flight, a run which they will be hoping to arrest after signing Diego Godin and Romelu Lukaku this summer.

Antonio Conte won Serie A three times with Juventus and also has a Premier League title under his belt, and the Inter faithful will be hoping he can add another top-flight crown to his collection.

Napoli are available at 20/1 (21.0) to break Juve’s stronghold on Italian football after finishing as runners-up in three of the past four seasons.

But they finished 11 points off the pace in 2018-19; and that was largely because the champions managed just three draws and two losses from their final five games, meaning that Carlo Ancelotti’s men have it all to do in 2019-20.

Who are the Serie A underdogs?

Atalanta are 33/1 (34.0) after recording their highest Serie A finish last season. A total of 69 points allowed them to finish third, meaning they will compete in the Champions League group stages for the first time ever.

Gian Piero Gasperini has established himself as one of the best managers in the club’s history after just three campaigns, and backers will be hoping for another stellar season from the Italian.

Elsewhere, Lazio are 50/1 (81.0) to win Serie A after an eighth-place return last term and have started this season with 24 points from their first 12 games.

bet365 go 100/1 (101.0) that Roma win their first Scudetto since 2001 this season. The Giallorossi could only muster a sixth-place finish last season, their lowest in six years.

Paulo Fonseca has been appointed as manager with the capital club also bringing in Amadou Diawara and Leonardo Spinazzola, although Kostas Manolas, Daniele De Rossi and Stephan El Shaarawy have all left.

Who are the Serie A outsiders?

Fiorentina and Cagliari are both 250/1 (251.0) whilst AC Milan are priced at 500/1 (501.0) to win Serie A after coming fifth last season – their highest finish since 2013.

It was a busy summer for Marco Giampaolo’s side, with the likes of Patrick Cutrone and Cristian Zapata leaving whilst Franck Kessie and Theo Hernandez have joined the 18-time champions.
