Meanwhile, it is being reported by <a href="https://www.independent.co.uk/news/world/europe/world-cup-kiss-hermoso-rubiales-court-b2471822.html " target="_blank">The Independent</a> that Hermoso is expected to appear in court on Tuesday as she prepares to give evidence against Luis Rubiales – the former president of the Spanish FA. That case relates to the kiss that Rubiales planted onto Hermoso’s lips during the 2023 Women’s World Cup final medal ceremony.

Hermoso is set to give her version of events in front of a judge, with Rubiales having maintained throughout that his actions were consensual. He was banned by FIFA from all football-related activity after sparking a #MeToo and #SeAcabo [It’s Over] storm and was <a href="https://www.goal.com/en-gb/news/luis-rubiales-banned-three-year-suspension-jenni-hermoso-world-cup-final-kiss/blt3f75bd2d8db2a7dc" target="_blank">eventually removed from power in Spain</a>.
