According to <a href="https://www.nytimes.com/athletic/5724493/2024/08/26/matheus-nunes-atletico-madrid-manchester-city/" target="_blank">The Athletic,</a> City are yet to receive any offers for the Portugal international or make a decision on whether or not he should leave before the transfer window shuts later this month. Now, Atletico are considering a loan move for the 25-year-old, <a href="https://www.goal.com/en-gb/lists/atletico-madrid-confirm-julian-alvarez-transfer-bizarre-bizarre-post-after-landing-man-city-striker/blt5a0da00a9400d87a" target="_blank">after signing striker Julian Alvarez</a> from Pep Guardiola's side earlier this month.

Nunes <a href="https://www.goal.com/en-gb/news/manchester-city-announce-signing-matheus-nunes-from-wolves-midfielder-fill-void-ilkay-gundogan-kevin-de-bruyne/blt1a986e20df0446c7" target="_blank">swapped Wolves for City last summer for £53 million ($67m)</a> but only started seven of the 17 Premier League games in which he featured for the club last season. Nunes joined Wolves from Sporting Lisbon in 2022 and played 41 times for the Midlands outfit during his only season at Molineux, before heading to the Etihad a year ago.
