New Balance and Aries join forces for new AS Roma jerseys and pre-match collection

After working with Brain Dead back in 2020, AS Roma has linked up with London-based luxury streetwear label Aries. The collaboration also includes New Balance, who took over as Roma’s kit manufacturer in 2021. Aries, founded by Rome-born Sofia Prantera, is also a regular New Balance collaborator, releasing a string of collaborative sneakers in recent years.

The collaboration covers an on-pitch kit, as well as a pre-game collection and a training tracksuit. The match kit will be worn during AS Roma’s tour of Japan later this month as they take on Yokahama F Marinos in Tokyo. The kit honours Roma’s traditional Giollorossi colours of red and gold, with a marbled stripe running diagonally on one side.

Additionally, the on-pitch kit includes a goalkeeper's jersey – coming in a dyed colourway that takes inspiration from key Aries references such as trash culture, outsider art and illustration – and matching football socks and pro shorts.

For the pre-game collection, Aries and Roma have crafted a pre-game jersey, an all-black tracksuit and a silver and gold metallic jersey that features iconography of some of Rome’s most iconic figures. The pre-match pieces will make their debut when the AS Roma players warm up before their infamous derby against local rivals Lazio on November 6.

Speaking on the collection, New Balance Football’s General Manager Kenny McCallum described Rome as “arguably the most historic city in the world,” adding that “not only does the collaboration with Aries pay homage to the important role AS Roma has played in this great city’s narrative, it is helping write its future on and off the pitch.”

Aries’ Sofia Prantera also discussed the collection, saying: “To collaborate with an institution like AS Roma is the realisation of how sport, fashion and culture have become intertwined. Being Roman, I understand how important this club is to the millions of fans in this city and around the world, and I wanted to reflect that through designs that celebrated Rome and conveyed its unique expression of football and fashion provenance.”

The Aries x New Balance x AS Roma training and lifestyle collection is available to purchase from November 4 at the AS Roma official store, New Balance and Aries.

The second part of the collection - which includes the match kits - will go on sale on November 22.
