- Adams tips Mbappe as best men's Player
- Hudson goes full Argentina with votes
- USMNT looking ahead to March return
WHAT HAPPENED? Captains and coaches vote for FIFA's awards, with Adams and interim manager Anthony Hudson doing the honors in representing the USMNT. The two voted in different ways on the Best Men's Player award, with Adams tipping Mbappe with Hudson voting for the eventual winner in Messi. Adams, to his credit, had Messi second and Erling Haaland third, while Hudson snubbed Mbappe by voting Haaland for second and Kevin De Bruyne for third.
The two were also split on FIFA's Best Coach and Best Goalkeeper, with Adams' coach vote going to Real Madrid boss Carlos Ancelotti as Hudson put his support behind World Cup-winning Argentina manager Lionel Scaloni. For goalkeepers, Adams backed Thibaut Courtois, continuing the Real Madrid theme, while Hudson went for a full Argentina sweep by selecting Emi Martinez.
THE BIGGER PICTURE: Hudson's votes, in the end, all proved to be the winners, with Argentina sweeping the awards as Messi, Scaloni and Martinez all took home prizes for their efforts in Qatar. Funnily enough, though, Martinez was not named to the Best XI, with Courtois being selecting as the goalkeeper.
