The 2023 MLS Rookie of the Year's agent posted on social media platform X, formerly Twitter, that he's available to other MLs teams as a result of the ongoing debacle. He posted: "Anyone in MLS need a starting #9? Asking for a friend".

His agent's post has caused commotion, and it seems that MLS teams are looking to take advantage. <a href="https://x.com/tombogert/status/1755960195023557048?s=20" target="_blank">Tom Bogert has revealed</a> that an 'unnamed MLS team' tried to take advantage of the moment McGuire left the Lions for Rovers, making an attempt to claim his 'rights' - only to be turned down by the league.
