A source close to Lingard told Sky Sports, that Lingard has taken the decision to sever ties with his agency due to a number of breakdowns in talks with clubs. Lingard has failed to maintain the level of performance he reached in spells for Manchester United and then on loan at West Ham, and did not have his contract at Forest extended. Yet, many would argue a player of Lingard's talent should be playing regular football.Despite this, there is a belief that it is Lingard's application, rather than lack of skill, that is holding him back.
