<p>West Ham confirmed that, on Saturday, <a href="https://www.goal.com/en-us/lists/west-ham-michail-antonio-car-crash-statement-thoughts-prayers/blt94119665e13bdb70" target="_blank">Antonio was involved in a horror car crash</a>. The Jamaica international was <a href="https://www.goal.com/en-gb/lists/michail-antonio-wreckage-horror-car-crash-trapped-west-ham-ex-wife-hospital/blt9835abab069c966d" target="_blank">reportedly airlifted to hospital after being cut free from the wreckage</a>, and the Hammers have now revealed that he sustained a "lower limb fracture" which required surgery.</p>

WHAT HAPPENED?

<p>Antonio has remained a key player for West Ham even at the age of 32 and had played in every game this season in the top-flight. Now, he will be monitored in hospital as his recovery begins in earnest.</p>

<p>In a statement on Sunday, West Ham said: "West Ham United can confirm Michail Antonio has undergone surgery on a lower limb fracture following a road traffic accident on Saturday afternoon. </p><p>"Michail will continue to be monitored in hospital over the coming days.
