<p>After his Chelsea contract expired at the end of the 2023/24 campaign, Thiago Silva decided to return to his homeland and join his boyhood club Fluminense. <a href="https://www.goal.com/en/lists/video-thiago-silva-welcome-home-55-000-fluminense-fans-maracana/blt48a2298e2c91ced7" target="_blank">The veteran player received a stunning welcome</a> at the Brazilian club last month as 55,000 people turned up at Maracana to welcome their legend. </p>

<p>The 39-year-old proved to be the club's lucky charm as they registered their first win in 10 matches across all competitions in his debut game for them. At the end of the match, the former Selecao star penned a heartfelt note for his new team. </p>
