At just 19, Haaland became just the second Dortmund player to score a hat-trick on their Bundesliga debut after Aubameyang (coincidentally against the same team).

He became just the third Bundesliga player in the history of the competition to score a hat-trick in his first appearance, following in the footsteps of Olaf Marshall (for Kaiserslautern in 1993) and Hermann Ohlicher (for Stuttgart in 1973).
