On Tuesday the <a href="https://www.goal.com/en-gb/team/wrexham/206vnsjv8ho5kpf88y0u2gaic" target="_blank">Wrexham</a> co-owner played 18 holes, nine with world number seven Max Homa and fellow American golfer Sam Ryder. Asked about McElhenney's swing, Homa said: "I wanted him to hit a bad one because I had a joke in my head and I was going to say 'the Gang gets the shanks' but he hit them all really good and killed my joke. Selfish!"

While a lot of his time is taken up by acting and running Wrexham alongside Ryan Reynolds, McElhenney has been keeping his golf skills sharp.
