'He is cold and I am fire' - Noni Madueke talks up 'unbelievable' Cole Palmer partnership at Chelsea after Wolves demolition job

Chelsea turned up to Molineux in search of their opening points in the Premier League this season and they did so in style as they defeated Wolves 6-2 thanks to a special 14-minute second-half hat-trick from Madueke. The winger scored all three of his goals with an assist from Palmer, and Madueke has now opened up on his relationship with Chelsea's top scorer from last season.

Speaking to Premier League Productions after the match, Madueke said about his hat-trick: "The first one was a bit lucky. The second one was all Cole Palmer, two brilliant passes, with the weight of the pass I just had to step onto the ball and score. I'm made up for the hat-trick but more made up we won the game."

He went on to praise Palmer and said: "It is unbelievable. He is cold and I am fire so it mixes well. He has the ability to always play a pass at the right time. I like to get the ball in space, beat people and make things happen, so luckily today it worked."

It was a much-needed strong performance by Madueke and Palmer in the second half as Chelsea struggled to close out their leads in the first half. Nicolas Jackson's opener was cancelled out by Mattheus Cunha before Palmer restored the lead in the 45th minute only for Jorgen Strand Larsen to level proceedings again in the sixth minute of first-half injury time. Madueke's quickfire hat-trick was followed up with Joao Felix scoring Chelsea's sixth on his second debut with the club.

The Blues will now hope to take forward their form from this victory into the second leg of their Europa Conference League play-off against Servette on Thursday, August 29.
