WHAT HAPPENED?

The reason for said evacuation was due to a dangerously hanging piece of metal in the roof of the Jimmy McIllroy stand. Cladding in the area had come loose during the opening stages, leading to concerns over the safety of fans. THE EXPLANATION

The Clarets released a statement mid-game explaining the situation: "Burnley fans are in the process of being moved from a section of the Jimmy McIlroy stand due to current safety concerns with the roof. We thank supporters for their co-operation and patience while we do this."
