Argentina's opening game of the Paris Olympics ended in a 2-1 defeat to Morocco after a chaotic game in Saint-Etienne. The Albiceleste equalised in the 16th minute of stoppage time but the goal saw fans storm onto the pitch and the match was suspended for over an hour. The <a href="https://www.goal.com/en-gb/lists/video-chaos-olympics-argentina-score-equaliser-morocco-players-firecrackers-fans-invade-pitch/bltba5275cea2a1a34b" target="_blank">goal was subsequently ruled out by VAR for offside</a>, with Morocco holding on to win 2-1 after play finally resumed.

Messi posted on social media after the final whistle. Argentina manager Javier Mascherano was also furious after the final whistle. "The biggest circus I've ever seen in my life," he said.
