Man Utd player ratings vs Arsenal: Move over Anthony Martial! Rasmus Hojlund offers hope despite devastating late defeat

Manchester United were left on the floor by a devastating Arsenal late show on Sunday, but one thing is clear: Anthony Martial's days as the Red Devils' first-choice striker are numbered. The French striker gave a pitiful performance in a very cautious display by United, only for the visitors to look much more dangerous once Rasmus Hojlund came off the bench.

United's biggest signing of the summer showcased pace, strength, aggression and superb hold-up play, everything his new team-mate, who has been at the club since 2015, lacked. Despite their shy approach, the Red Devils went ahead with a stunning strike from Marcus Rashford, only for Martin Odegaard to level 35 seconds after the game restarted.

United were much better after the break, especially after Hojlund came on, and they thought they had won it when Alejandro Garnacho struck on the counter-attack. Instead, Arsenal struck twice in added time through Declan Rice and Gabriel Jesus, leaving United feeling distraught. But there is at least hope in the form of Hojlund.
