On Monday, the UEFA Women's Euro 2025 group stage draw certainly did not underwhelm. Producing four quartets all intriguing for their own different reasons, the appetite for the tournament was especially whet by England, the holders, being pooled with France and Netherlands. But with Germany, Sweden and Denmark all in one group, and Spain to face an Italy side that beat them in the recent Nations League campaign, there's plenty to be excited about.
England will be the defending champions at the tournament, having beaten Germany 2-1 in extra-time at Wembley in the 2022 final. The Lionesses have had success since that triumph, reaching a first-ever Women's World Cup final, but they were beaten by another European nation, Spain, on that occasion. Making the build-up to this Euros all the more interesting is the fact that those two will meet twice before the tournament begins, when the Nations League returns in February.
But there are plenty of other contenders for this title too, including eight-time winners Germany, 2017 champions Netherlands and the likes of Sweden and France, both semi-finalists in 2022. So, how has Monday's group stage draw impacted each nation's chances of glory? GOAL ranks all 16 teams...
