Valencia captain Dani Parejo smashed a sensational free-kick to earn his side a valuable point at Atletico Madrid this past weekend, with what was the pick of the goals from Matchday 9 in La Liga.
The midfielder has been one of the standout performers so far this season and struck with eight minutes remaining at the Wanda,cancelling out Diego Costa’s opener.
The shock of the round came in Mallorca, where Parejo’s former employers Real went down 1-0 in a defeat that saw them surrender top spot to Barcelona.
High-flying Granada now sit third, just one point behind Real, after Domingos Duarte grabbed the only goal of the game against Osasuna.
