Chelsea star Millie Bright expects 'some grief' from Emma Hayes as USWNT boss watches her old side claim WSL win against Arsenal

<p>Chelsea continued their strong start to the Women's Super League season with a <a href="https://www.goal.com/en-gb/lists/chelsea-player-ratings-vs-arsenal-mayra-ramirez-colombian-forward-lauren-james-wsl-win/blt147c7452b3f9314d" target="_blank">2-1 win against Arsenal</a> on Saturday - a result that sent them top of the table. Former Blues manager <a href="https://www.goal.com/en-us/lists/emmas-hayes-uswnt-boss-chelsea-arsenal-wsl/blt89865c1cf6df359a" target="_blank">Hayes was at the Emirates</a> to see Sonia Bompastor's side secure a deserved victory. Despite picking up the three points, England international Bright suggested her old boss would probably not have been entirely happy with the manner of the win. </p>

WHAT HAPPENED?

<p>She told <em>BBC Sport</em>: "Yeah, probably sending me some grief actually! We always keep in touch, she's [Hayes] become a great friend over the years and she always will be."</p><p>The centre-back added: "We knew it was going to be a tough game. It's two top teams coming up to battle, it's never easy coming here. As a team we know we've got that fight, we're capable of dealing with that pressure and, in the end, still creating a couple of chances. We're disappointed not to put them in the back of the net a few more times but it's a game we expected to be tough."</p>

<p>The former Lyon boss has enjoyed a perfect start to life at Chelsea, winning all four of their matches in all competitions this season. Next up for Bompastor's team is a trip to Twente on Thursday in their next Champions League clash.</p>
