  • THE BIGGER PICTURE

Ronaldo and his side Al-Nassr had to settle for a draw against table toppers and bitter rivals, a game in which Ronaldo was unusually quiet. Registering just three shots, he was mostly ineffective and made his night worse by picking up a yellow card for a rash challenge on compatriot Joao Cancelo. This poor showing came after a 1-0 defeat in the round of 16 of the Kings' Cup to Al-Taawoun, in which Ronaldo missed a penalty to level the game in added time.

  • WHAT RONALDO SAID

In the caption underneath the post, Ronaldo said: "Recovery game strong! I try to use the ice bath as frequently as possible to help reset and recover my body for each upcoming game!"

  • WHAT NEXT FOR RONALDO?

Al-Nassr will hope the ice bath truly does reset Ronaldo as they face Al-Ain in the AFC Champions League on Tuesday, before hosting sixth placed Al-Riyadh in the league next weekend. Manager Stefano Pioli will be eager to see Ronaldo back in good form for those games.
