The Brazilian winger, who has joined Betis on loan from Manchester United, helped create Isco's opener against Athletic Club just 15 minutes into his first game for the Spanish club. The 24-year-old cut inside and fired towards goal but saw his effort parried into Isco's path for a simple finish.

The ex-Ajax star's fantastic start to life in La Liga sent fans crazy on social media, with @ChandlerBing_12 writing on X: "Antony Ballon Dor incoming with Betis".

"Anthony keeping it electric," said @annaintslow, while @LFCAmericanReds argued his poor form at Old Trafford was not his fault, saying: "United was the problem. They’re always the problem."

Antony faced heavy criticism for his underwhelming displays at United after the club paid £85 million ($106m) to sign him from Ajax. He managed 14 appearances and just three starts in all competitions this season before he was loaned to Betis, who do not have a buy option on the Brazil international.

Antony was substituted after 72 minutes against Athletic Club as Betis were eventually held to a 2-2 draw. The United loanee will hope to be back in the starting XI when Betis face Celta Vigo in their next game.
