<p>It was announced earlier this week that Guardiola is set to remain at the club and <a href="https://www.goal.com/en-gb/lists/pep-guardiola-stay-man-city-sign-new-contract-legendary-manager-pen-new-deal-beyond-2025-seismic-decision-future/blt2bd797b9fcb666fa" target="_blank">sign a new one-year contract</a>, with the option of a further year. And now, the club are poised to offer Haaland a huge new deal as they bid to tie him down too, <a href="https://www.goal.com/en-gb/lists/man-city-115-charges-explained-alleged-ffp-breaches-premier-league/blt5ed11b8b09706007" target="_blank">despite the prospect of relegation from the top-flight</a> if found guilty of 115 alleged financial breaches.</p>

WHAT HAPPENED?

<p>Haaland is contracted until 2027 and currently earns £375,000-per-week before bonuses. His weekly wage means he earns £20m ($25m) per season and a four-year extension would see him earn over £100m before bonuses are factored in. </p>

THE BIGGER PICTURE

<p>City are also likely to open talks with Ballon d'Or winner Rodri over a new deal, although they <a href="https://www.goal.com/en-gb/lists/kevin-de-bruyne-considering-proposal-new-mls-franchise-san-diego-fc-man-city-star-unlikely-renew-contract-etihad-stadium/bltbf74aaf0794da66b" target="_blank">face a decision over Kevin De Bruyne</a>, as his deal expires this summer. If he were to stay, he would likely need to accept a pay cut, but negotiations may be informed by the fact he can speak with foreign clubs from January onwards.</p>
