Bad news, Mesut Ozil! It appears you won't be allowed to chew any gum ahead of Arsenal's FA Cup clash against Sutton United on Monday
The Gunners take on the non-league outfit with a place in the quarter-finals at stake for the winner at Gander Green Lane.
But Arsenal's players will not be allowed to enter Sutton's pitch with any bubble gum after Sutton banned them, Goal can confirm.
Why? Well, because Sutton's play their games on a 3G pitch, Arsenal have been asked to abstain from chewing gum because “it gets stuck into the ground and is very difficult to get out,” Goal were told.
The news comes as a blow for Ozil, who is well known to occasionally enjoy showing off his keepy-uppy tricks with a breath-freshening sweet in pre-game warm-ups.
Will a lack of pre-game gum affect Ozil positively or negatively? Who knows!
The winner of the clash between Sutton and Arsenal will take on non-league Lincoln City in the last eight after they beat Premier League side Burnley in the fifth round on Saturday.
