<p>United have accepted that they will not be able to recover even half of the £85 million ($99m) figure they spent to sign Antony from Ajax in 2022, so they believe a loan deal will be the easiest way to get him off their books and have signalled they are willing to listen to offers in the next transfer window.</p>

WHAT HAPPENED?

<p>United and the 24-year-old would prefer to see him join a European club, with Newcastle and Crystal Palace said to be interested. A return to former side Ajax has also been touted as a possibility, but <a href="https://www.goal.com/en/lists/ajax-return-closed-off-antony-man-utd-flop-mindset-called-into-question-lack-of-playing-time-old-trafford/bltcab3e0b2d59d6169" target="_blank">the Dutch side are reportedly concerned about his "mindset"</a>. The ex-Sao Paulo star made 82 appearances and scored 24 goals in his two-year spell in Amsterdam.</p>
