According to <a href="https://www.bild.de/sport/fussball/premier-league-geheimer-liverpool-plan-mit-diesem-bundesliga-star-6630e47114cba164d4c1e97f" target="_blank">BILD</a>, the Reds are keen on signing the 22-year-old Ecuadorian defender in the summer, however, they could loan him back to the German side for his further development as a player before he heads to Anfield in 2025. The plan is to seal the deal as early as possible before the player's transfer value increases.

WHAT HAPPENED?

Per transfermarkt, the defender is currently valued at €30m, although it was <a href="https://www.getfootballnewsgermany.com/2024/julian-chabot-of-interest-to-eintracht-frankfurt-as-a-potential-replacement-for-willian-pacho/" target="_blank">earlier reported</a> that the Bundesliga club are likely to demand a fee in the region of €50-60m. SGE have already identified FC Koln’s Julien Chabot and PAOK’s Konstantinos Koulierakis as possible replacements in case Pacho exits the club.

With Joel Matip set to exit Anfield at the end of the current season as a free agent, the Reds are looking to bolster their backline ahead of the 2024/25 campaign.
