<p>The Argentine missed the match against rivals Monterrey due to injury, and was seated in a club-issued suite for the match instead. However, he did own up to his actions, while also apologizing to <em>Los Rayados</em>.</p>

<p>The 38-year-old wrote an <a href="https://twitter.com/PatonGuzman/status/1779637007322329185" target="_self">apology on social media</a>, saying: “As I already did privately and in coherence with the values <wbr><wbr>of the institution that I represent, I want to take advantage of the reach of social media to publicly offer my apologies to Esteban for what occurred last night during first half of the Clásico Regio."</p>

<p>Further repercussions may arrive for the Argentine, as Monterrey are set to address it with the disciplinary committee this week, per <a href="https://www.espn.com/soccer/story/_/id/39946706/liga-mx-player-sorry-shining-laser-opposing-gk-eyes" target="_self">ESPN</a>.</p><p>Tigres, meanwhile, take on Necaxa in Liga MX action next weekend.</p>
