Fantasy Football: Hazard tops the pile in our Goal Premier League Team of the Week

Matchweek five is in the books and it was yet another exciting round of Premier League action. There were plenty of outstanding performers this weekend, but it was Eden Hazard who stole the limelight both in real life and in Fantasy. His hat-trick helped Chelsea beat Cardiff and earned him an impressive 20 points in the Goal game. Below are the other 10 players who earned the most Fantasy points this week.

GK: Ederson - Manchester City - 1 Game, 3 Saves, 1 Clean Sheet = 7 Points

DEF: Matt Doherty - Wolves - 1 Game, 1 Assist, 1 Clean Sheet = 10 Points

Doherty has been getting forward plenty for Wolves this season, and his performance against Burnley was probably his best of the season. He set up Jimenez well for the winning goal and had an excellent chance to score himself in the latter stages of the match, but skewed it wide. At just £5.5m he could be a solid addition to your Fantasy team as he can provide occasional returns, but also allow you to fit more expensive players in elsewhere.

DEF: Chris Smalling - Manchester United - 1 Game, 1 Goal, 1 Goal Conceded = 8 Points

DEF: Kyle Walker - Manchester City - 1 Game, 1 Clean Sheet = 7 Points

MID: Eden Hazard - Chelsea - 1 Game, 3 Goals = 20 Points

Hazard can be a frustrating own at times, but this weekend he certainly rewarded anyone who started him. His three-goal performance was fantastic and the underlying stats supported him as well as he led the league in shots on target and finished top five in corners taken. Top to bottom, his efforts on Saturday make him our Goal Fantasy Player of the Week.

MID: Ryan Fraser - Bournemouth - 1 Game, 2 Goals, 1 Assist = 17 Points

MID: Willian - Chelsea - 1 Substitute Appearance, 1 Goal, 1 Assist = 10 Points

MID: Raheem Sterling - Manchester City - 1 Game, 1 Goal = 8 Points

FOR: Andriy Yarmolenko - West Ham - 1 Game, 2 Goals = 12 Points

He only took two shots all day, but both of them found the back of the net in his first start at West Ham. His long-term ownability remains to be seen, but it seems likely that he will hold onto his spot for next week given his production. That having been said, his next opponent will be Chelsea who currently boast the third-best defence in the league so you may want to look elsewhere in the Goal game.

FOR: Marko Arnautovic - West Ham - 1 Game, 1 Goal, 1 Assist = 10 Points

FOR: Josh King - Bournemouth - 1 Game, 1 Goal, 1 Assist = 10 Points

Most of the attention on Bournemouth has gone to Fraser and Callum Wilson this season, and rightfully so, but King has quietly been performing of late. He’s now registered two goals and an assist in his last three matches and could be a valuable asset if you believe the Cherries can keep up their current scoring rate (fifth best).
