Mexico announces full Olympic roster

The Mexican Football Federation (FMF) announced the full list of players that will be representing the country in the sport at London 2012.

Manager Luis Fernando Tena presented the list to the press this afternoon, with few surprises elicited upon the completion of all 18 names being called out.

Cruz Azul goalkeeper Jose de Jesus Corona, Tigres defender Carlos Salcido and Santos Laguna striker Oribe Peralta were the three over-23 players selected by Tena to bolster the CONCACAF champions in London.

Giovani dos Santos was also called upon by Tena, as the 22-year-old was not present at the qualifying tournament due to Tottenham Hotspur's refusal to release the player in March.

Notably, the tournament's top scorer (along with Marco Fabian) Alan Pulido, was not selected by Tena and instead replaced by Toulon sensation Raul Jimenez.

Chivas led the charge with four players from its squad being selected for duty, while Cruz Azul had three players chosen. América, Pachuca, UANL and Monterrey all had two players called up.
