<p>McElhenney took part in the Farmers Insurance Open Pro-Am this week, although he proved that perhaps he isn't great at absolutely everything he does. The <a href="https://www.goal.com/en-gb/team/wrexham/206vnsjv8ho5kpf88y0u2gaic" target="_blank">Wrexham</a> co-owner played  18 holes, nine with professional Max Homa and nine with Sam Ryder. WHAT HAPPENED?

<p>In a video uploaded to Instagram by ESPN golf analyst Michael Collins after the end of their round, McElhenney said: "<span>Physically I feel great. Emotionally I'm a wreck. I'm smiling but I'm crying on the inside. You can't see it because I'm a great actor. That [points at course] nothing but beautiful and in here [rubs chest area] a rotting cancer of hell... and that's golf!"<br><br></span></p>

WHAT MCELHENNEY SAID

<p>McElhenney was one of several big names taking part in the event, which preceded the start of the Farmers Insurance Open on Wednesday. <a href="https://www.goal.com/en-gb/team/usa/e70zl10x0ayu7y10ry0wi465a" target="_blank">USWNT</a> star <a href="https://www.goal.com/en-gb/player/alex-morgan/l28lqh3f3ojx6kk2wvvq6nyt" target="_blank">Alex Morgan</a> took to the green with her husband acting as her caddie.</p><p>Despite his own grievances about his performance, Ryder was complementary about McElhenney and his celebrity teammates. THE BIGGER PICTURE

<p>McElhenney clearly loves his golf, but it might be that running a football club alongside Ryan Reynolds is more his thing. That's if Wrexham's current position in the table is anything to go by; the Red Dragons are second in League Two and are on course to earn a second promotion in as many seasons. Up next for Wrexham is an FA Cup fourth round clash with Blackburn Rovers on Monday.</p>
