Latest Transfer Odds: Bookmakers expect Maguire to stay at Leicester despite Manchester United links

One of the players to raise their profile significantly at the 2018 World Cup was Harry Maguire.

The centre back won 41 aerial duels in Russia, the highest tally of any defender in the competition, and contributed in the attacking third too with the opening goal against Sweden in the quarter finals - the first of his senior international career.

Unsurprisingly, Maguire has been linked with a move away from Leicester, although the bookmakers remain unconvinced about the possibility of that coming to fruition this summer.

William Hill have transfer betting available on over 30 different players and make Maguire 1/2 (1.50) to stay at the King Power Stadium until after the transfer window has closed.

The Foxes paid around £17 million for the 25-year-old a year ago and having already sold Riyad Mahrez to Manchester City this summer, the East Midlands club are likely to adopt a tough stance on any further approaches for their star players.

Recent media reports have linked Maguire with a big money move to Manchester United and Jose Mourinho's side are rated the most likely destination if the defender is to move on. The Red Devils are available at 10/3 (4.33) with William Hill to complete the transfer during the current transfer window which closes for Premier League clubs on August 9.

As is usually the case when a player has something of a breakout tournament, Leicester are likely to try and reinforce their stance by offering Maguire a new contract and ward off potential suitors in the process.

Toby Alderweireld has just one year left on his current Tottenham Hotspur contract and has also been linked with a move to Old Trafford. Were that to occur, Spurs would likely look to bolster their defensive ranks and are 7/2 (4.50) to bring the 25-year-old to the new-look White Hart Lane.

Liverpool are available at 9/1 (10.0) although Jurgen Klopp's recent comments suggest the Reds may have all-but completed their summer business, certainly in terms of acquisitions.

England's back three in Russia contain two Manchester City players and it's 12/1 (13.0) that Maguire links back up with John Stones and Kyle Walker at the Etihad Stadium.

The centre-back still has four years left to run on his current contract but the odds suggest that he is unlikely to be on the move in the coming weeks, especially if a new deal can be agreed with the Foxes.
