WHAT HAPPENED?

<p>Mount's exclusion from the England set-up has coincided with his <a href="https://www.goal.com/en/news/mason-mount-slammed-man-utd-england-international-timing-off/blt3e590a66556ac67c" target="_blank">tricky start to life at Manchester United</a>. Erik ten Hag's side paid £55 million ($68m) to sign the midfielder from Chelsea over the summer, but in recent weeks he has increasingly found himself on the bench. An early season injury certainly didn't help the 24 year old settle into his new surroundings.</p><p></p>

<p>Mount accompanied his Instagram post with a simple caption: "Home." After United beat Luton last weekend, the midfielder sent supporters a message that read: "We keep building."</p>

<p>With United not back in action until Sunday, November 26 when they take on Everton, Mount will likely return to training next week. Until then, he'll enjoy recuperating in his hometown of Portsmouth. In the long-term, he'll look to improve his performances so that he doesn't miss out on England's Euro 2024 squad.</p><p></p>
