The England international had only been on the pitch for ten minutes before unleashing a powerful effort from 25 yards that flew past goalkeeper Janina Leitzig and into the top-right corner. Toone did well to find space on the turn and it was a fabulous strike that left the player herself looking shocked.

Man Utd dominated for large spells but failed to find the net. It was not until Marc Skinner introduced Toone alongside Nikita Parris did the visitors step up the tempo and eventually seal a 1-0 victory.

THE BIGGER PICTURE

The win moves Man Utd three points clear of rivals Liverpool in fourth, with the Reds set to take on Chelsea on Wednesday night. Up next for Skinner's side is a trip to Merseyside to face Liverpool on May 5, where a win will guarantee them a spot in the top five of the Women's Super League.
