Ngannou looks jittery and slightly spooked by Joshua, falling for every feint the Briton throws. Joshua again lands a strong right hook, albeit not as clean as the previous round. Joshua throws another one-two and drops Ngannou again. Ngannou gets up again, just to be floored by Joshua in brutal fashion. Ngannou is knocked out in the second round.

JOSHUA KNOCKS NGANNOU OUT

The night labelled ‘Knockout Chaos’ reaches its grand finale as Francis Ngannou makes just his second professional boxing fight against Anthony Joshua. Ngannou shocked the world as he dropped WBC heavyweight champion Tyson Fury in October in an unlucky, narrow loss to the Gypsy King. Tonight represents an opportunity for the former MMA star to prove his impressive showing against Fury was no fluke.For Joshua, the former heavyweight boxing champion, has a chance to demonstrate he is still good enough to wrestle back his lost crowns. Having won his past three fights, should the Briton dispatch of Ngannou with ease, he will no doubt call out Fury for an all-British classic.Like Ngannou’s clash with Fury, this is a 10-round bout and set to have as many fireworks outside of the ring as inside. The winner will likely have the chance at some point to face the winner between Fury and Oleksandr Usyk scheduled for May 18. What next?

Parker continues to outbox and outwork Zhang as the final round begins. Parker’s corner encourage him to let his hands free and really push to win this all important round. Once again. Zhang drifts through the round, offering so little – a theme throughout the fight. Neither fighter celebrates at the bell. Parker boxed well but, after being dropped twice, cannot let his emotions go yet.

The penultimate round begins with Parker looking stronger and livelier than ever. Zhang appears to tire as each round progresses and is showing each of his 40-years. Zhang may have two knockdowns but will need to be busier in the final round if he is to win on points. Very difficult to call.

With Parker probably slightly trailing Zhang, he comes out battling and works the large body of his opponent. Zhang again waits and waits and waits for an opportunity to land, often looking pedestrian in the fight, and doesn’t. Andy Lee shouts: “He’s doing nothing!” Parker can take confidence but must be wary of that dangerous left hand.

Chants of ‘let’s go Parker’ ring out as Zhang looks to take advantage of a successful previous round. The pair share blows but refuse to give away any indication if they have been hurt. Three rounds to go.

Parker’s confidence takes on yet more strength as he shocks Zhang with a strong right hook. However, like Zhang read the previous post, a simple right hook from the Chinese fighter drops Parker to his knee – the second time he has been dropped tonight. Zhang’s blows look innocuous but pack serious power.

Zhang lands well on Parker which draws a tad of excitement from the crowd but the fight has reached a slight lull. Parker lands a good one-two which Zhang shrugs off but it is the former who looks most comfortable. All it takes is one shot from Zhang though, as Parker has already found out.

Halfway through the fight and it is tough to split the pair. Aside from the earlier knockdown, Zhang looks cautious, waiting for the chance to land one, massive left hand. Parker is buzzing around Zhang, picking his moments, and boxing cleverly. The two styles couldn’t be more contrasting.

Parker’s trainer Andy Lee stressed to his fighter that they will take the fight in the latter stages. Parker keeps moving forward and trying to land blows to the body, trying to tire his opponent. Zhang lands a good right hook but Parker doing well to duck in and out, feinting to and away.

Zhang comes out the blocks swinging, smelling the blood dripping from the top of Parker’s nose. The boxer from New Zealand picks himself up, blows the blood from his nose and lands a sharp blow to Zhang’s body making Zhang step back. A strong response from Parker.

Zhang vs Parker - Round 4

Zhang remains tentative as the chess match between the pair continues. Parker continues to ask questions of the 40-year-old and draw the bigger man out of his shell. Obliging, Zhang lands a straight left hand that sends his opponent to the canvas. Parker springs up but Zhang is growing in confidence and has hurt Parker with that straight left.

The action picks up as Parker targets Zhang’s body but the Chinese fighter sees off any early blows. A big overhand from Parker indicates the Kiwi is looking to force the issue but is then met by a heavy left hand from Zhang. Parker appears unbalanced but recovers quickly to land a strong jab before the round fizzles out.

Roars as Jose Mourinho arrives

Unbeaten fighters Israil Madrimov and Magomed Kurbanov compete for the WBA light middleweight title. However, the fight almost didn’t happen as Madrimov (nine wins and one draw) was only medically cleared to fight the Russian a couple of days ago. Madrimov enters the bout to the Red Hot Chilli Peppers' 'Can't Stop' but, with an impressive record of 25 wins, Kurbanov will certainly being trying to stop the fighter from Uzbekistan.

Gwynne suffered a deep cut above his right eye early into the first round as Chamberlain stormed out to set the tone for the rest of the fight. Chamberlain completely outclassed the Welshman whose eye had to be checked incessantly by his team. In the fourth round, the referee had no choice but to stop the fight.

Amir Khan predicts win for Joshua

Next up is an all-British clash as Mark Chamberlain takes on Gavin Gwynne in the lightweight division. Chamberlain enters the fight off the back of three successive wins inside the distance and boasting an unbeaten record with 14 wins. Gwynne suffered two defeats against Craig Woodruff but impressed in victory against Emiliano Marsili last year. The winner will be looking to British champion Sam Noakes next as their next challenge.

A phenomenal barrage from Lerena in the final round was not enough to snatch victory at the death of the fight as Huni secured victory by unanimous decision. Trailing in the fight, the South Africa landed countless powerful hits but could not find that last knockout blow. The young Australian’s mettle was tested but held on to secure victory.Lerena wobbled Huni in the second round as the younger man’s inexperience told as he walked into a series of heavy punches. Despite his early struggles, Huni grew into the fight and regained his rhythm to show why he is such a hotly-tipped prospect in the heavyweight division. The Australian gained control in the sixth round and took advantage of his physical advantage to take the fight away from a tiring Lerena. The South African’s late surge was in vain and he was edged out of a tight fight.

Former two-time unified heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua will see tonight's bout as another step in his journey to return to the summit of his division. Should he win, he is likely to face the winner of the fight between Fury and Usyk that is scheduled for Saturday May 18.Francis Ngannou's next fight, meanwhile, has already been confirmed. The Cameroonian left the UFC early last year to join rival MMA promotion the PFL. He will make his long-awaited debut there against the Brazilian Renan Ferriera.

Joshua has made no secret of his intentions after facing Ngannou

As always, the world of boxing have had their say ahead of the event. Tyson Fury and his promoter Frank Warren both declined to give an outright winner in their predictions, although Fury came close (!):"They are both big punchers who are not very hard to hit, so they can both land and do damage. I would like to back the former heavyweight world champion (Joshua) but then again who the f*** am I to say anything?"Fury went on to say that whoever wins would be on his agenda following his upcoming rescheduled bout with Oleksandr Usyk. Fury of course has beaten Ngannou already in the Cameroonian's first venture into boxing back in December last year.Warren meanwhile has predicted a knockout - "possibly for Ngannou" - saying that Joshua's chance of victory rides on him being able to impose himself over Ngannou.Unsurprisingly, Eddie Hearn is backing his man Joshua. Speaking to Telegraph Sport, Hearn said: "We let class rise and the cream come to the top. We school him, we break him down and we knock him out."UFC legend Jon Jones has said he will be supporting his fellow MMA compatriot, although did end by admitting: "If I personally had to put my own money on it, not that I gamble, I would put it on Anthony Joshua."

The other big highlight on the card tonight is the big bout between Zhilei Zhang and Joseph Parker for the interim WBO heavyweight title. Zhang is the current belt holder having beaten Joe Joyce in back-to-back fights in 2023. Parker, meanwhile, is in good form himself.
